"The authorization process for renewable energy plants is speeding up, through government interventions. The last step is still missing: making the bureaucratic steps in planning more legible, clear and transparent."
The president of Anev, the association of wind energy companies, Simone Togni, said this at the KeyEnergy Summit in Rimini, at the Key renewables fair.
According to Togni, "between now and 2040, 30 more gigawatts of wind energy are possible in Italy, 20 from new plants and 10 from the repowering of old ones. 10 gigawatts can come from offshore, but a clear regulatory framework is needed. By 2030, we hope we can have the first plant floating".
