Forensics officers go to a single-family home in the municipality of Scheeßel.

After the fatal shots allegedly fired by a 32-year-old Bundeswehr soldier in the Rotenburg (Wümme) district, the Verden public prosecutor's office provided information about the four dead.
Accordingly, the victims in the Scheeßel community are a 55-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, as a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office said.
At the second crime scene - in Bothel - a three-year-old child and his 33-year-old mother were killed.

Several media outlets had previously reported on the age of the victims.
The suspect is said to have committed the crimes on Friday night.
He turned himself in in the morning.
The background was initially unknown.
“A motive in the family environment cannot be ruled out,” said the investigators.
