At the start of the second half of the season, MTV Dießen, currently third in the A-Class 5, can present a newcomer: Christian Rid returns to his youth club.
Dießen – The 27-year-old is now wearing the MTV jersey. Most recently, Rid played for MTV in 2012. He then went to SV Igling via the SV Raisting and Jahn Landsberg stations. At the beginning of the current season, Rid was in the SV Polling squad without completing a point game. In conversation with Starnberg Merkur, the defender reports on his first impressions of the team around player coach Philipp Ropers and reveals what he still wants to achieve this season.
You've been training in Dießen for a few weeks now. What is your impression so far?
My impression is very good. The mood within the team is great. You have a lot of fun in training, but if you have to be serious, everyone pulls along. As it should be.
Why did you return to MTV Dießen?
Dießen is my youth club. It all started here a few years ago. In the first half of the season I have followed almost all games. When I found out that Philipp Ropers was taking over the team as a player coach, I didn't think long and got in touch with Philipp. It is a great team, also very disciplined under Philipp's leadership. He's the youngest coach I've had so far, but I really appreciate his footballing skills and abilities.
Who is your role model when it comes to football?
My role model is Cristiano Ronaldo. It was like that when I was a little boy. I am fascinated by his constant ambition to win games and his football skills.
What do you want to achieve in the second half of the MTV?
My goal for the season is clearly the ascent! That's why you play soccer to celebrate personal success. I want to help the team with my achievements and get the best out of the second half of the season. The ascent is definitely feasible for us. mm
