Two strong phases are not enough - Schongau men lose 23:26 at the beginning

For a long time it looked good for the handball players at TSV Schongau.

In the end, however, they had to admit defeat at the start of the season.

- Last weekend the game started in the handball district "Alpenvorland".

The opening program, however, was very modest.

There was only one game in the men's regional league, and that was played by TSV Schongau at SC Unterpfaffenhofen-Germering II. The Lechstädter's return to the regional league did not end as desired.

In the state league reserve of the SCU, the climber lost 23:26 (13:12).

"With a lot of luck we could have taken something with us, but in the end our rate of mistakes and missed throw was too high," said TSV coach David Schmoldt.

He praised the hosts for the implementation of the Corona requirements.

"That was very strict, but also implemented very well," said Schmoldt.

His team as well as the opponent were only allowed into the hall 30 minutes before the start of the game.

“This meant that the preparation was a bit short, which was also noticeable in the nervous early stages of both teams,” explained the TSV coach.

Weak end costs points

Both opponents needed some time to find their way.

Only after seven minutes and a meager 2-1 lead by the hosts did the initially even game slowly pick up speed.

Ten minutes before the break, the Schongauer turned on.

Within a short time they moved away to 12: 8 (26th).

"But then there was deep sleep until the break," reported the trainer.

Unterpfaffenhofen-Germering used this to four goals in a row.

At the beginning of the second half, the game of the guests didn't get better.

"That was catastrophic," said Schmoldt in view of the missed throws and failures in the series.

The receipt was a four-goal deficit, which the SCU defended until 17:21 (45th).

A second strong phase of the Schongauer with four goals in a row, including two goals from Yanis Lang, brought the 23:23 equalizer (56th) and made the game exciting.

In the last minutes of the game, however, the newly promoted acted too hastily and too imprecisely.

The guests didn't manage a single goal.

The home side, however, met three more times and could look forward to the opening win.

“But the guys showed a lot of good approaches.

It will probably take another three to four weeks to get up to speed, ”said Schmoldt.
