For almost a year, 1. FC Köln didn't manage to win at home - a particularly important one against newly promoted Bielefeld. The FC was too efficient, especially Marius Wolf.

1. FC Köln has left the relegation place in the Bundesliga and opponent Arminia Bielefeld overturned it.

In the 3-1 (2-0) home win, Marius Wolf (9th, 28th minute) and Elvis Rexhbecaj (62nd) met for Cologne, Sergio Cordova for the guests (73rd).

Two serious chances, two goals - 1. FC Köln presented themselves extremely efficiently in the first half.

Bielefeld's goalkeeper Stefan Ortega parried Ellyes Skhiri's header from a corner, but at Wolf's feet, who only had to push in (9th).

Arminia was challenged in terms of play after falling behind and was only able to cope with this task to a limited extent.

Ritsu Doan brought a free kick high in the middle, Sven Schipplock's header was steered decisively over the goal by the quick-reacting Timo Horn.

After just under half an hour, it was Wolf again, who was given too much space in the Bielefeld penalty area.

A cross from Jakobs transformed the indented winger with a direct decrease in the right corner (28th).

New signing Emmanuel Dennis, who started as the sole striker, was hardly involved in offensive actions;

Max Meyer came on in the 89th minute.

A Bielefeld double change should bring the turnaround after the break, instead Skhiri used the moment of the unsorted Arminia and sent straight through to Rexhbecaj.

The midfielder took the ball a few meters and then finished in the right corner (62nd).

The game seemed decided because Cologne kept Bielefeld away from their own goal and the promoted team revealed too many inaccuracies in their own game.

But then it was pretty easy: A long ball from Ortega landed at Fabian Klos, who asserted himself against two opponents and saw Cordova who ran along with him.

After his goal (73), Arminia tried again with high balls, Soukou got the ball just before the final whistle, but only hit the left post.

In the table, Cologne, now 14th, make up two places.

Bielefeld slips to 16th place, Hertha BSC to 15th.
