SV Werder Bremen won the game against Dynamo Dresden 2-1 and ended the 25th matchday again as the leader of the 2nd Bundesliga.

The game report of the DeichStube*.

Bremen – It was hard work, but in the end the home win was perfect: SV Werder Bremen beat

Dynamo Dresden

2-1 (2-1)

on Sunday afternoon

and thus held the lead in the 2nd division even after the 25th matchday defended.

However, the Bremen team had to tremble for a long time against extremely brave guests before success was finally recorded.

Niclas Füllkrug

became the match winner with his brace.

Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer provided the early Dresden lead.

There was only one change in the starting line-up of SV Werder Bremen

compared to the 3-2 derby win at Hamburger SV

: Niklas Schmidt replaced the suspended Romano Schmid, which was quite a bit of a surprise.

In the run-up, Nicolai Rapp was expected as a replacement for the Austrian.

For Niklas Schmidt it was the first start since the end of October.

Under coach

Ole Werner

, the 24-year-old had never been part of the first team.

During the game, however, the focus should initially be on others – namely the guests from Dresden.

Werder Bremen vs. Dynamo Dresden: Early deficit, but Niclas Füllkrug equalizes

After both teams and the 25,000 or so spectators admitted to the Wohninvest Weserstadion had given a loud minute's silence before kick-off against the war in Ukraine, the guests led by new coach Guerino Capretti started the game with enormous determination.

In the second minute,

Werder Bremen

goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenka had to save Michael Sollbauer after a corner kick in dire straits – only to have to get the ball out of the net a few moments later.

After Dresden's second corner of the afternoon, it was Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, who was a step faster than Anthony Jung and maneuvered the ball into the goal with his thigh (2').

A rather cold shower for Bremen, who almost answered immediately through Marvin Ducksch (3rd), but still had great problems with

Dynamo Dresden

on the defensive .

Only with a brilliant save after a long-range shot by Sebastian Mai did Pavlenka save his team from falling behind (5th).

Only after this turbulent initial phase did the home side gradually gain the upper hand on the pitch and showed in a single scene why they are among the absolute top favorites for promotion to the Bundesliga.

After a nice pass from Jung, which Schmidt cleverly let through in the penalty area,

Niclas Füllkrug

and Ducksch played a one-two at lightning speed, which led to Füllkrug equalizing with his twelfth goal of the season

Werder Bremen

worried – 1: 1 (16th).

A little later, Leonardo Bittencourt shot in the penalty area with his back to goal and just missed the far post with a lob over himself (25').

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden: double pack!

Niclas Füllkrug turns the game before the break

After about half an hour, Bremen had a proud 75 percent of the ball, so the balance of power that was expected beforehand seemed to be settling in with a little delay.

However, Dynamo Dresden

had something against it and fought back into the game after conceding a goal.

Michael Akoto (33') and Königsdörffer (39') both failed because of Pavlenka, who was there twice with strong reflexes.

On the other side it was

Niclas Füllkrug again

, which made the stadium cheer.

After a sensitive cross from the strong Christian Groß, the striker headed in to make it 2-1 (45'), but the guests were once again unimpressed: Seconds before the half-time whistle, Dresden's Julius Kade headed the ball powerfully against the crossbar (45'+1'). ).

At the very latest, it was clear that

Werder Bremen

would still have a decent amount of work to do in the second half.

Also interesting: Wrong throw-in decision before conceding a goal?

Dynamo Dresden angry after bankruptcy against Werder Bremen!

Werder Bremen wins against Dynamo Dresden and is the leader of the Bundesliga 2

After Leonardo Bittencourt failed shortly after the restart with a header at Dynamo keeper Anton Mitryushkin (48th), the fast Königsdörffer made the Bremen team tremble once more on the other side.

Milos Veljkovic had miscalculated in a duel in midfield and could no longer keep up with the Dresdener, whose shot Pavlenka was able to defuse with a foot defense (59').

Ole Werner

then reacted, bringing the more defensive Rapp in the 66th minute for the overall hapless Bittencourt to give his team new stability.

A change that was certainly also due to the courageous appearance of the guests.

Despite more ball possession and the greater individual class,

Werder Bremen made it

not trying to keep the opponent under control and away from your own goal at this stage of the game.

Also offensively the team searched in vain for the decisive gap.

In the end, it was enough for a narrow and, given the defeats of the two opponents Hamburger SV and Schalke 04, an enormously important home win, which

brought Werder Bremen

one step closer to their big dream of returning to the Bundesliga.

Bremen, who are already six points ahead of fourth place, have to play seventh-placed 1. FC Heidenheim from 8:30 p.m. next Saturday.

UPDATE LIVE TICKER

<<<

3:27 p.m.:

A hard piece of work in which there were no beauty awards to win.

But at least three points that bring Werder back to the top of the table.

With that we say goodbye until the game against Heidenheim.

Goodbye, derby winner!

3:26 p.m .: That was it!

Werder beat Dresden 2-1 after trailing 0-1 and scoring two goals!

90.+3:

Toprak consistently goes into a duel against Drchal and runs the ball away.

90.+1:

And the two protagonists from the last ticker entry are now off work.

Ducksch and Weiser make way for Agu and Woltemade.

Meanwhile, Thomsen shows four minutes of stoppage time.

90 min:

Weiser with the degree, but without danger.

Sollbauer still sees yellow after a kick against Ducksch.

89 min:

Ducksch first gets through well against Sollbauer, but the last man Knipping then takes the ball off his foot.

88 min:

Despite the deficit, there is no real rebellion in Dresden.

86 min:

Dresden draws the last two change options: Daferner and goal scorer Königsdörfer are out, but Diawusie and Drchal are now in the game.

85 min:

No.

Friedl follows up on Akoto in the second wave and then fouls.

84 min:

Maybe now: Werder corner.

82 min:

Werder again with a combination in the sixteen, where everyone in green and white feels at least once on the ball, but in the end there is also a Dresden player who rectifies the situation before it becomes dangerous.

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker: Few chances, hardly any flow of the game – but Werder continues to lead

80 minutes:

Werder changes.

Schmidt goes, but Gruev is now in the game.

Dresden also changes again: Sebastian Mai claps himself with incense, which replaces him.

79 min:

Schmidt with a train to the goal, in the six-yard space he puts it across again, but Füllkrug and Ducksch probably expected the direct shot and can no longer get the ball.

75 min:

The game is taking a little break again.

In general, the second half is not nearly as eventful as the first half.

The game thrives on the tension that the tight result offers.

73 min:

Jung looks for a sharp left cross in the box, Dresden clears the next corner.

71 min:

Borrello tries from a distance, but the ball flies well over Pavlenka's goal.

69 min:

Rapp pulls a cross from the left with his outside instep sharply in front of the goal, where Ducksch misses by a hair's breadth.

67 min:

Schmidt puts his hands in front of his face because there was more in it.

But his pass to the filling pitcher fails completely and hisses into the goal.

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker: Werder finds it difficult to counter guests

66 min:

Change on both sides: Bittencourt goes, Rapp comes.

In Dresden, the inconspicuous Batista Meier leaves the square, Mörschel enters him.

Also Borrello for Schröter on board.

64 min:

Pavlenka wants to play an inaccurate back pass to Jung, but his pass is also a bit short, Jung can just be so disruptive that Dresden's Schröter doesn't get to the ball dangerously.

64 min:

Schmidt drives the ball and lays it on Bittencourt on the left, but his flank is knocked out by Dresden's defence.

59 min:

Out of nowhere a huge chance to make it 2-2 for Dresden: Veljkovic loses the duel against Königsdörffer.

He runs in from the left and only has Pavlenka in front of him, but the Werder goalkeeper gets the shot with his foot from the near corner!

Great job, take a deep breath!

58 min:

Weiser fishes the ball in front of the penalty area, then briefly sees the gap between two Dresdeners and wants to whip through, but Dresden's defense somehow gets his leg in between and prevents Weiser from appearing free in front of the goal.

56 min:

Werder is having a little trouble at the moment, but Dresden is not a real threat at the moment.

But we now know that Dynamo is always good for a dangerous action with set pieces and counterattacks.

53 min:

Werder very playful today, many combinations.

The next one via Bittencourt and Füllkurg, however, silted up because the pass from the latter to the former is a bit too firm and goes out of the goal.

51 min:

Nothing happens there, kick off for Werder.

50 min:

Kade gets the next corner out for the guests.

48 min:

Big chance for Werder!

Ducksch hits a corner from the right.

Dresden's defense jumps under the ball, the ball falls on Bittencourt's head and then flies towards the lower right corner, but Mitryushkin reaches out and gets the ball out.

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker: The second half is on

47 min:

He has to smile: Weiser accidentally throws a throw in front of his own feet, Thomsen correctly whistles the action.

You don't see that very often in the professional field.

46 min: Referee Thomsen releases the second half.

2:34 p.m .:

The teams return to the pitch, the second half is about to start.

2:23 p.m .:

Despite some idle phases, the spectators see an entertaining game, which is also due to Dynamo Dresden.

The Saxons don't hide, spurred on by Königsdörffer's early lead (2nd), further goals could have been possible.

Instead, however, Werder took control and turned the game around with two Füllkrug goals (16th, 45th) before the break.

2.20 p.m .:

Then there is a break!

That gives us the time to paint the picture of the 2:1 in your head: Groß gets the ball in front of the penalty area and crosses in the direction of the left post, right at the head of Füllkrug, who nods powerfully on the bottom left.

Mitryushkin is still on it, but in the end he can no longer prevent the impact!

45. + 1:

Immediately before the break, Dresden's Kade Pavlenka forces the next save, so the equalizer with a header was possible!

45 min: Tooooooooor for Werder, again filling jug!

43 min:

The conspicuous filling jug with the next goal approach in the form of a header, but it flies over the dynamo goal.

42 min:

Ducksch has a lot of space on the left and runs into the penalty area.

He tries a low flick that would have landed in the far corner, but Mitryushkin dives and spins the ball around the post.

The corner after that is safe.

40 min:

It's not entirely harmless either, Pavlenka has to wipe a header over the bar from a short distance.

The following corner, however, brings in some calm, since there is no yield for Dynamo.

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker: both teams with chances

39 min:

Big chance for Dresden: Schröter moves into the sixteen and plays across to Königsdörffer.

He holds on, Pavlenka defends with his foot to the corner.

38 min:

After a short break in the game, Füllkrug sends Ducksch on the journey, but fails to accept the ball so that Mitryushkin can pick up the ball.

It's a shame, if Ducksch takes him with him sensibly, he's free in front of the box.

33 min:

Pavlenka has to intervene again after Akoto shot from the back.

There is a corner for Dresden, but that doesn't change the score.

32 min:

A conclusion from Dresden: Akoto tries, but only hits Veljkovic in the penalty area on the chest.

The Dresdeners want a hand penalty, but the arm was put on if he was on the ball at all.

30 min:

Another nice move that puts Jung in position in the penalty area, but is straddled.

There are two corners.

The first earns another corner, the second a throw-in.

28 min:

Dresden's Julius Kade sees yellow after a foul on the filling jug in the Werder penalty area.

Hard decision.

28 min:

After the offensive and eventful initial phase, the game has now calmed down a bit.

Also reassuring: Werder has the reins of action firmly in their hands.

26 min:

Groß sees yellow after a foul in midfield on Sebastian Mai.

24 min:

Füllkrug heads the ball into the penalty area into Bittencourt's run, who doesn't take the ball well with him, but then wants to lift the ball over his shoulder into the far corner with his back to goal - just wide.

Was worth a try.

24 min:

The second ball lands on Ducksch, who plays a nice one-two with Bittencourt and has room for a cross, but Dresden's defense throws in and prevents a possibly good chance in the approach.

23 min:

Not bad, but Dresden clears the corner.

22 min:

Foul on Weiser, just before the right edge of the penalty area.

19 min:

The result also reflects the balance of power in the initial phase well, as both teams had their chances.

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker: Niclas Füllkrug quickly compensates for Dynamo's lightning start

17 min:

Clicking your tongue: Jung brings the ball flat to the sixteen, where Schmidt cleverly lets it through.

As a result, Füllkrug is the recipient of the pass and plays a one-two with Ducksch, who undermines the entire defense, puts plenty in position - and lets Werder score 1-1!

Go then!

16 min: Goooooor for Werder Bremen, there's the equalizer, a dream goal in the making!

14 min:

Königsdörffer moves into the penalty area and wants to pass Toprak on the baseline in the six-yard box, but slips and stumbles the ball out of the field.

Goal kick.

But: Dresden are surprisingly offensive here and are not resting on their own leadership, but are still looking for the fast way forward.

13 min:

Dresden again: Kade looks for one of his strikers with a pass, but the ball is played a little too hard, so that Schröter and Daferner have no chance of getting to the ball.

10 min:

Füllkrug moves into the penalty area from the right, eats his opponent and has a lot of space, but uses it insufficiently and does not pose any problems for Dynamo goalkeeper Mitryushkin.

7 min:

Ducksch now gets the first Werder corner out.

But no profit here either.

5. Min:

Next good chance for the guests: Schröter fixes the ball in the penalty area and puts it on Sebastian Mai, who pulls and forces Pavlenka to make a brilliant save!

The following corner brings nothing.

3. Min:

In direct return, the huge chance for Werder: Schmidt puts through Ducksch, who pulls the trigger in the sixteen, just missing the long corner.

Rapid initial phase.

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker: Cold shower for Werder, Dynamo leads early

2 min: Goal for Dresden, that was quick.

The second corner lands on Königsdörffer's thigh and from there under the crossbar of the Werder goal.

1-0 for Dynamo...

2. Min

: Dynamo Dresden takes out the first corner – and it becomes dangerous, Pavlenka has to intervene!

1. Min: The ball rolls, the game is on!

1:32 p.m.:

"We don't want to remain silent, but raise our voices against this senseless war!" - The message comes, the stadium claps and expresses its opinion on Russia's head of state in a way that cannot be quoted.

1.30 p.m .:

The captains Toprak and Sollbauer high five, the teams switch sides.

Both teams gather at the center circle for a minute's silence.

1:29 p.m.:

... and here they come!

1:25 p.m .:

Everything is ready and prepared for the game in the Weser Stadium.

The teams are ready, but there will certainly be another common signal in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Werder Bremen against Dynamo Dresden in the live ticker – Romano Schmid: The fans pull us along

1:20 p.m .:

Romano Schmid ennobles Christian Groß on the Sky micro: “He’s really important for the team”.

Last week's derby victory was "something special for him, but nevertheless we have to leave the church in the village and keep scoring".

Finally, a few nice words for the Werder fans: "They really pull us along!" At best, even today against Dynamo ....

1:15 p.m .:

“The frame fits,” says Dynamo coach Capretti before the game in front of a large backdrop in the Weser Stadium to Sky.

However, he is only overjoyed when “the boys perform”.

1:09 p.m .:

We look at the record in direct duels between Werder and Dynamo: There were 12 games, SV Werder won 6, SGD 4, 2 games ended in a draw.

All Werder fans think back to the first half of the season with horror: After two hits by the aforementioned Daferner and a Schröter goal, the Saxons sent the green-whites home with a 0:3 pack - a warning signal that the game today will not be a sure-fire success.

1:02 p.m .:

Bremen slipped from the top of the table overnight.

Although the club with the blue diamond on their chest lost in Nuremberg (1:2) and FC Schalke, as mentioned, against Hansa Rostock (3:4), but FC St. Pauli (3:1 against Karlsruhe) and in an impressive way SV Darmstadt with 3:2 (after 0:2 deficit) against 1. FC Heidenheim scored three times and overtook the green-whites.

With a win, however, Werder can regain the place in the sun and extend the gap to fourth place to six points.

12:59 p.m .:

With 47 goals, Werder currently has the fourth best offensive in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Above all, Marvin Ducksch (15 goals) and Niklas Füllkrug (11) have increased this number considerably in recent weeks.

On the Dresden side it looks clearly wall: 23 goals mean the second weakest value in the league.

Werder still have to watch out for Christoph Daferner in particular: the Dynamo striker scored ten goals and scored almost half of all his team's goals.
