The season is over for FC Högersdorf, but without a happy ending.

Dorfen – Coach Hans-Peter Walter's team lost to TSV St. Wolfgang in the relegation on Wednesday evening with 2:4 (0:2) goals and is thus relegated to the A class.

The people of Wolfgang, on the other hand, have the chance to advance to the district class against BC Attaching 2 (date and venue have not yet been decided).

Abandoned games, penalty shoot-outs, interruptions due to thunderstorms – everything was on offer in the last few weeks in the relegation games between FC Hörgersdorf and TSV St. Wolfgang.

Yesterday in Dorfen everything went smoothly in front of around 1000 spectators.

The slightly favored Hörgersdorfer had the first chance, but Martin Grasser failed from a tight angle at TSV goalkeeper Lukas Linner - there were less than two minutes played.

But then came the Wolfganger.

The agile Sebastian Lory shot just over it from 17 meters (4th), but two minutes later there was cheering in the TSV camp.

A Lory free kick from the left was in the air for a long time, but Simon Peinelt got the ball almost unchallenged and headed it into the corner.

Hörgersdorf seemed shocked and mentally a bit battered.

All FCH attempts to attack were consistently stopped by the team from Wolfgang, and after 20 minutes the score was 2-0.

Lory was fouled by Matthias Benningsfeld 18 meters from the goal.

Luca Lamprecht flicked the free kick over the wall into the corner.

In the second half, the game really picked up speed.

Less than three minutes were played when Hörgersdorf's Martin Vorsamer put across to Denis Prsa, who shortened to 1:2.

But in the middle of FCH's offensive, Wolfgang counterattacked after a bad pass in midfield, Loidl also outplayed the goalkeeper and made it 3-1 (54th).

This hit left its mark on the Hörgersdorfers, and the preliminary decision was made ten minutes later.

Loidl hit the post from a short distance, the ball bounced to him again, he put it across to substitute Bernhard Deuschl, who effortlessly scored to make it 4:1.

Despite the clear gap, the Hörgersdorfer didn't give up and came to 2:4.

TSV keeper Lukas Linner held the ball too long and there was an indirect free kick in the penalty area, which Martin Stöckl converted to make it 2:4 (72nd).

Who knows what would have been possible for FCH if Daniel Karpfinger hadn't sabered over the ball from close range in the 81st minute after a great Vorsamer pass.

But that's how TSV St. Wolfgang acted in the last few minutes, standing low and with liberating blows and didn't allow Hörgersdorfer any more chances to score.
