"I'm happy and excited to come to Liverpool," Nunez said after the signing. "I played against Liverpool and saw a lot of their games in the Champions League. To help the group. "
"When I arrived at the training ground, I was amazed at the organization, the structures and the titles that are here. You imagine yourself winning more trophies, and then when you come back here later I say you were part of that period. That's one of the reasons I came to Liverpool, winning trophies and titles."

The 23-year-old Nunez began his career in 2017 in the senior division of Penarol in his native Uruguay, when the striker won two championships with her.
In 2019 he joined Almeria from Spain, and a year later moved to Benfica.
Last season he was crowned the top scorer in the Portuguese league, and will be the second player in less than a year to join Klopp's team from a Portuguese club after Luis Diaz from Porto.
Nunez is the second player to join Liverpool this summer after the Reds announced the acquisition of Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.
