The Black Bears Freising and EV Aich will fight for the status of number 2 in the district on Friday.

Above all, the guests are self-confident.

Freising

– Two very old acquaintances meet on Friday at 8:15 p.m. in the Weihenstephan Arena.

Because the duels between the SE Freising and the EV Aich already existed without a roof in the 2000s.

In the early stages of the district league group in mid-2022, the Black Bears vs. EVA game is a top game between the current league leaders and third.

Both opponents are still unbeaten to date, which says little when they have played two or one league game.

But it is interesting that both the Domstädter and the Moosburger Vorstädter had to play against the ESC Dorfen 1b last week.

The EV Aich completed this task with a 7:1 success, but was not as sovereign as the coach Georg Herrmann would have liked.

At the beginning of the game, his strikers were again far too generous with their chances.

After a creative break in the second period, five goals were scored in the last 20 minutes.

After all, Sebastian Lachner and Christian Poetzel, the two newcomers from Erding, showed that they can be the hoped-for reinforcements in attack.

The EVA will continue to miss Andreas Koller

That would also be important with regard to the Friday game, because the EVA top scorer from the 2021/22 season, Andreas Koller, will probably still be missing.

In the test match against Waldkraiburg, he received a questionable penalty with an additional message and was suspended for eight games.

In addition, Alex Scholz injured his knee badly in the league match against Dorfen 1b.

The villagers also had to complain about two injured players.

But only one day later at the game in Freising, which the Black Bears won 7:3.

Above all, an action by Vincenz Stegner at the end of the first period brought fire into the game, so that both teams ended up with 24 penalty minutes.

From the point of view of SEF sports director Gregor Tomasik, this was unnecessary, because his squad had everything under control.

Schünemann has already scored five goals this season

The first two rows in particular conjured up great combinations on the ice for the relegated state league.

Bears captain Dmitri Kurnosow seems to feel at home alongside the two 22-year-old youngsters Philipp Aigner and Linus Bernau.

And the oldie series with Nikolas Schünemann, Felix Kammermeier and Florian Bochnak is also really blossoming in the district league.

Schünemann scored an impressive five goals in the two games last weekend.

The fact is: Both the Bears and EV Aich got off to a good start.

Friday's derby is all about prestige - let's see if the SEF win 3-0 like they did in their last meeting of the 2015/16 season.

"We want to show that we are number two in the district in ice hockey," says EVA defender Christian Koller confidently.

His coach Georg Herrmann sees it similarly, even if Freising is against a relegated state league: "We just have to look at ourselves and do our best, then it'll work."
