Must train with the second team from now on: New signing Marcel Sieghart (left) probably has no future at VfB Hallbergmoos.

Bayern Bundesliga club VfB Hallbergmoos will drop four players from the squad before the game at Schwaben Augsburg.

Among them are two ex-SEF kickers.

Hallbergmoos

– VfB Hallbergmoos longs for the spirit of the past season, with which the footballers caught up and ultimately managed to stay up in the Bayernliga.

In order to become a team again, things were cleaned up during the week: before the away game at TSV Schwaben Augsburg (Saturday, 2 p.m.), four kickers were removed from the squad.

"From now on, four players are training with the second team," says coach Matthias Strohmaier.

These are Osaro Aiteniora, Monty Mendama, Berin Brzovic and Marcel Sieghart.

All four are newcomers - two came shortly before the transfer deadline (Brzovic, Sieghart) and two previously played for SE Freising (Brzovic, Aiteniora).

With this step, Strohmaier sent a clear signal that he only wants to have men in the squad who tear themselves up for the team and the club.

Even if VfB does not officially announce it, it should be the announcement that this quartet should look for new clubs if they want to continue playing at a higher level.

Strohmaier protects Küchle

Strohmaier is a straightforward and honest guy who is not used to blaming others.

That's why he expressly defends VfB's sports director, Anselm Küchle: "It's not his fault alone that some of the new signings in the summer had to reach for the toilet." He too was wrong.

And that's why it's now important to pull the cart out of the mud together.

Strohmaier's first round of deletions from the squad could only have been the beginning: Other kickers may be on probation in the last three games before the winter break.

The coach only sees a chance of a turnaround for VfB Hallbergmoos if, with eleven mentality monsters on the field, they want to bring better footballing opponents to their knees.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Difficult away game in Swabia

Sporty opponent Schwaben Augsburg is quite a house number.

Coach Strohmaier sees the squad in seventh place higher up in the league and therefore hopes that TSV will underestimate their team.

After the away game in Augsburg, teams from the bottom third of the table are waiting with the other Swabian Bayern league teams TSV Nördlingen and Türkspor Augsburg.

Especially in these games, VfB Hallbergmoos has to score points if you want to talk about more than avoiding direct relegation in the second half of the season.

Possible line-up:

VfB:

Dachs – Petschner, Strohmaier (Monthe), Giglberger, Mömkes – Kostorz, Beetz, Thee (Küttner), Krause, Werner – Diranko.
