FC Bayern unveil new home kit for 23/24 season – historical background
The new outfit by Thomas Müller and Co. surprises with the color combination. While the body was mostly completely red in recent years, white predominates as the color of the new jersey. Only the lettering of the sponsor Telekom (men) and Allianz (women) as well as the sleeves, which are halfway through with three white stripes of the supplier, appear in the classic FC Bayern red. The pants, on the other hand, are completely red.
Something unusual? Absolutely. But FC Bayern has – once again – thought of something in the design. The history of the record champions plays a major role in this. "The jersey reinterprets the iconic colours that stand for FC Bayern's identity," reads the Munich club's website. The shirt is "an allusion to the home jersey that the players wore in 1965 after promotion to the First Division."

The "Mia san mia" can be read on the back of the neck. However, this lettering has now been added. "Red & White for a lifetime" is provided on the inside of the collar. "The colors red and white have been with me all my life. With this traditional design, the new home jersey stands for the success story of FC Bayern Munich," says Thomas Müller about his new work outfit.
"When you think of FC Bayern, you immediately think of images in red and white," says Lina Magull, describing the new jersey: "Even as a child, my room was decorated in these colours, and it's a dream to be able to wear them on the pitch. The new jersey combines history and elegance – and we want to do justice to these colours."

And the fans? Opinions are divided. On Twitter, one user wrote: "I don't like Bayern, but this jersey is outstanding." Another, on the other hand, writes: "Red white, all well and good, but looks like a pure children's jersey."
