The second Champions League semi-final kicks off tonight (Wednesday, 22pm) when Manchester City host Real Madrid in an attempt to qualify for a second ever final and oust the reigning European champions. After the first match between the teams that ended 00-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Blues continued their quest to retain the Premier League title with an important 1-0 victory over Everton on Sunday, with Pep Guardiola's side securing the win in the next round. On the other hand, the Blancos officially lost the Spanish championship with Barcelona's win, and after the Copa del Rey they hope to take another step towards retaining the trophy with the big ears.
After being rested in the league, Jack Grealish and John Stones are expected to return to the hosts' line-up, with Bernardo Silva also placed in Pep's 3 alongside Erling Haaland to complete the task and qualify for the final. Nathan Ake has not recovered from the injury, with Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias and Kyle Walker likely to start together in defence. Carlo Ancelotti made one change with the return of Eder Militao after the yellow card penalty at the expense of Antonio Rudiger, who had excelled in the previous game guarding Haaland. Federico Valverde stepped up in midfield, while Vinicius, Karim Benzema and Rodrigo will try to reach a second consecutive final.
