Mufti Hassoun to a European Parliamentary Delegation: The Syrian people confronted terrorism in defense of world peace

The Grand Mufti of the Republic Dr. Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun affirmed that the Syrian people with their steadfastness, will, the courage of their army and the wisdom of their leadership, confronted terrorism and extremism in defense of its existence, sovereignty, independence and peace in the whole world.

Mufti Hassoun called on a delegation from the European Parliament headed by MP Terry Mariani, a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs of the French National Assembly, during their meeting today to convey the reality of what is happening in Syria to their people to refute the lies propagated by the media, warning of the consequences of embracing some Western countries to extremist ideology Harmful to all.

For his part, Mariani explained that the delegation's visit to Syria comes with the aim of getting acquainted with the reality of what is happening in it, expressing regret from the policies of some Western countries towards Syria, which led to prolong the crisis and the suffering of the Syrian people. Being in the region, Syria is not realistic and has a lot of distortion of facts.
