The Secretary General of the Czech Red Cross, Joseph Konchny, confirmed that the organization is working to send more medical assistance to the Syrian people.
This came during a meeting with Charge d'Affaires at the Syrian Embassy in Prague Amira Karwani, during which they discussed the arrangements for sending a new shipment of medical aid provided by the Czech Red Cross to the Syrian people, including two ambulances, 13 incubators, radiology equipment and a number of other medical devices.
Karouani thanked the Czech government and the Czech Red Cross for their assistance, especially medical assistance, to the Syrian people, who suffered from the destruction of many of its health facilities by terrorists and their supporters.
Since 2016, the Czech Republic has allocated 195 million kronor of development and humanitarian aid to Syria, of which 163 million kronor have been used.
The Czech Foreign Ministry announced last June that it had prepared a special plan to continue providing development and humanitarian assistance to Syria for the period from 2020 to 2021, at a value of 100 million CZK, or about 3.9 million euros.
