Zakaria explained that one of the disadvantages of the pistachio tree need for a long time for the fruiting phase of up to ten years, pointing out that farmers have resorted in recent years to plant other crops among pistachio trees for compensation, noting that one of the main difficulties faced by the cultivation of pistachio is the lack of planting Grafted in sufficient numbers within the nurseries.

Zakaria pointed out that the pistachio tree is planted within broad climates, it has the ability to withstand the drought and the nature of the land, indicating that the demand for pistachios is very large due to lack of supply.

It is noteworthy that the cultivation of pistachios has expanded in recent years in the eastern countryside of Homs and spread over large areas in it, an important economic and food plants because it contains high nutritional value and its fruits are sold at high prices in the local market.
