The head of the Moscow investigation committee, Yulia Ivanova, announced the arrest of nine people linked to the Islamic State terrorist organization in Syria and involved in criminal cases related to the financing of the organization.
"At the request of the FBI, a precautionary measure was applied in the custody of nine people for specific offenses," Ivanova told reporters in Moscow.
Ivanova explained that during the investigation of this criminal case, the investigating authorities, in cooperation with the Federal Security Service and the Department of Counter-Extremism in the Ministry of Interior, monitored the close relations of the terrorist financing organization and identified its partners.
