Special Assistant to the President of the Islamic Shura Council in Iran, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, stressed that maintaining security in the Gulf requires strengthening comprehensive cooperation between the countries of the region.
Abdullahian said in his tweet to him on Twitter today that the American and foreign military presence and stockpiling of weapons in the Gulf undermine security, considering that dialogue, confidence-building and mutual respect is necessary in the region.
Abdullahian indicated that his country has submitted proposals that consistently follow this approach.
And the Iranian government presented last September an initiative to form an international coalition to ensure security in the Gulf region that includes Iran, Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
