Report: Two vehicles were attacked from the air north of Baghdad
Witnesses said that the target was senior Shiite militias operating in the country. No details of their condition were provided
Shiite militia forces operating in Iraq were attacked on Saturday night north of Baghdad. The assault that took place from the air against several vehicles occurred near the Taji camp as the forces exited it. Iraqi military officials said six people were killed in the attack and three others were injured.
Witnesses told Sky Network in Arabic that several senior Shiite-backed Shiite militias were being attacked. "Two out of three vehicles were hit, and six bodies were found," the military official noted.
The reports come as a result of the assassination of Quds Qasim Suleimani by US commander and Iraq's activities against pro-Iranian militias in the region. Along with Suleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandas, the deputy commander of Shiite militias in Iraq, and several other militiamen who were with them in a caravan were also eliminated.
