The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, confirmed that the memorandum signed between the Turkish regime and the Libyan reconciliation government is inconsistent with the international law of the seas and violates the sovereign rights of three countries.
And media quoted Michel as saying after meeting in Brussels, Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of Agreement Fayez al-Sarraj today that Brussels will intensify its efforts to find a political solution to the Libyan crisis, noting that the aforementioned memorandum "will result in legal consequences."
The Libyan House of Representatives had announced its rejection of the "two memoranda of understanding in the security and maritime areas" that the Libyan reconciliation government signed with the Turkish regime, as they contravened the constitutional declaration and the political agreement between the Libyan parties.
