Today, the handball championships for juniors in Lattakia, held by the game federation, will be held in Al-Assad Sports City with the participation of 13 teams representing most of the governorates.
And divided the teams participating in the championship, which started yesterday and will end tomorrow, into two groups, the first includes Al Nawaier, Army, Al-Ittihad, Al-Shula, Al-Daraaikish, Second Vanguard, Deir Atiyah, Quneitra, Al-Qal'a, Al-Karama, Duma and Al-Jazeera.
In the first day’s competitions, the Dreikish defeated Douma 19-10 goals, the flame over Quneitra 31-15 goals, the Al-Nawatir against Deir Atiyah 30-23 goals, the army over Al-Jazeera 29-22 goals, and the Union against Al-Karama 37-21 goals.
The second day’s competitions witnessed Al-Ittihad’s victory over Al-Jazeera 36-26 goals, Al-Tali’ah beat Al-Jaish 30-25 goals, and Al-Qudseh against Quneitra 23-11 goals, Deir Atiyah over Al-Shula 32-29 goals, Al-Nawa'eer on Al-Qalaa 37-22 goals and Al-Karama defeated Al-Dureikesh 30-28 goals. Al-Ittihad 34-24 goals, the army on Quneitra 7-7 goals, and vigilance against Deir Attia 33-28 goals, and the flame on the castle 29-22 goals, and Al-Nateer on Douma 29-12 goals, and Aldrikish on the island 30-23 goals.
The head of the game association, Abdel Karim Al Raei, stated in a statement to a Sana sports reporter that the Junior Championship this year is better than the previous years in terms of quantity and type, which is an indication of the development of the game and its spread more broadly, as the tournament witnessed for the first time 13 teams, including those who participate for the first time and others compete strongly She has good materials and talents.
"The federation focuses on the small age groups, as it is the true basis for forming our national teams, which are usually produced by such championships," he said, explaining that external participation will be confined to the youth and youth categories at the Asian level, and there is an upcoming participation in the Arab Clubs Championship scheduled in Tunisia and we will be represented by a team Army.
