Major General Abdul Karim Khalaf, spokesman for the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, announced that the investigation committee for the American crime that led to the martyrdom of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Committee and commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, and their companions reached "important conclusions."
"The committee has reached important conclusions and will open one of the ports of in-depth investigations to other parties, and the intelligence and internal intelligence service has been assigned," he said, noting that the committee will deliver the final report to Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi.
Khalaf added, "The investigation may cross the border."
The team, Soleimani, the engineer, and their companions, were martyred on the third of this month during a US missile attack that targeted their convoy near Baghdad International Airport.
