An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale hit Jiaxi County in Kashgar County, northwest China's Xinjiang region, today.
The Xinhua News Agency quoted the China Earthquake Monitoring Center as saying that the quake occurred at a depth of 16 km, explaining that there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
