The Trump program has created embarrassment in the two largest camps in Israel. The attempt to portray Netanyahu as an achievement is complicated because the adoption of the outline makes the prime minister the one who said "yes" to almost everything he has opposed over the years. Adopting Blue-White outline means adopting a militarily complex plan, a key part of which includes "giving up" Arab Israeli citizens for the purpose of exchanging land, not to mention other problematic parts. The upcoming elections could cause both parties to make moves that did not come to mind in another situation.

Netanyahu cannot bring the Trump program to a close, as he is in opposition to his political camp, including in the Likud itself. The desire for white and blue to "bribe" the right and bring the plan to the Knesset to prove the party's central character and proximity to the US government is childish.

Trump's plan is problematic for Israel, mainly because it is completely transparent about the inequality it creates between the Palestinian entity and the State of Israel. This is a danger to Israel, because if it is realized, it will only be because the Palestinians have no other choice, and such a decision has always, in history, brought severe hostility and revenge feelings. The Cockpit understands well that the Trump plan should not be accepted, and if it does bring it to the Knesset, it will be a backlash to the larger public following this party just because it believes it is responsible and considerate.

Netanyahu's attempt to annex even a small part of the West Bank, after no Likud government has ever planned to do so, is not a strategic move but a tactical one, stemming from its (necessarily wrong) feeling that this would give it an electoral advantage. But Netanyahu hears the voices, and knows that this will jeopardize Israel's security. This is because of the importance of the eastern front to him, and the understanding of suspending relations with Jordan as a result of such a move, and because it will be the move that will end security coordination with the Palestinian Authority. There is no decision maker who knows more than Netanyahu the true meaning of this coordination, which the phrase "coordination" was bestowed upon him only because of the desire of both parties to use a laundered word.

It is a call for both sides not to play fire and not to do acts just because of the election campaign. These are not moves that are made by competing parties trying to legitimize each other, but by playing on fire at the expense of Israel's national interests, as each camp sees them. Bringing Trump's plan to the Knesset by white and blue will not forgive her, just as annexation, a minute before the election, will not be forgiven for the Likud.
