Donald Trump's son-in-law and adviser to Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, blamed PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Friday for being responsible for recent violent incidents in Israel. He says leaders who are ready for the state "do not call for rage and encourage Kushner added that, in his opinion, Abu Mazen "was surprised at how good the plan was for the Palestinian people, but locked himself up" by opposing it in advance.

Kushner, who is considered the architect of the American "century deal" to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, said Abbas has been causing tensions and violence in the occupied West Bank since the plan was released last week. He says he raises points from the past as things on the ground changed, and "this may be the last chance to resolve the situation." The US President's top adviser said this in a conversation with reporters ahead of the UN Security Council peace plan discussion next week.

According to Kushner, the American proposal may be the last chance for a solution, because the rate of expansion of Israeli settlements may prevent the future Palestinian state. Currently, Kushner added, "It is very difficult to see a continuous situation where you can travel from one side to the other," but it is still possible. He said that the most useful thing the Palestinians can do right now is sit down with the Israelis and go through the "line by line" program.

"If they wanted to meet, we would love to do it, but we don't intend to chase them," Kushner said. He noted that the meeting with the Security Council was "very helpful," adding that he and his team would monitor the establishment of a committee to conduct a detailed map and schedule meetings with European and Middle Eastern countries to further explain the plan.

Kushner also referred to the expected statement of former prime minister Ehud Olmert and Abu Mazen against the plan, saying: "I think it's pathetic when people criticize those who are trying to find a solution. He added that Olmert should help "instead of trying to steal headlines when it's irrelevant."
