Lattakia-Sana
The General Directorate of Ports closed this evening all ports in the face of maritime navigation due to the prevailing weather.
Brigadier Ammar Makhlouf, Director General of Ports, told a SANA reporter that due to the strong southwest winds that might reach at night between 80 to 100 km per hour, the ports of Latakia and Tartous commercial were closed, in addition to the mouth of the oil terminal in Baniyas and the fishing and excursion ports.
Makhlouf indicated that the ships were instructed to take caution and safety measures in such cases to avoid any accidents.
