“ Given the social situation, specific to the Martinique academy and in the best interests of students and families, the session of the common continuous assessment tests (E3C) is exceptionally extended. Students will take their exams during the month of March. They will have their copies the very first days of April, "said the rectorate of Martinique in a statement Thursday. The abolition of 51 posts, scheduled for the start of the 2020 academic year, is also " suspended pending a thorough study of the needs of the academy, " added the rectorate.
This announcement follows the interview Wednesday evening of two deputies (related PS) from Martinique, Serge Letchimy and Josette Manin, with the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer. " These measures will thus help maintain a level of equal rights and equity in education, upbringing and the success of our children compared to those in France, " wrote in a statement the Martinique Progressive Party, to which the two deputies belong. Several deputies from Guadeloupe had obtained similar measures last week for their territory, also shaken by blockages of educational establishments for several weeks, following a meeting with the minister.
