A woman who has been placed under quarantine for fear of taking a Corona virus in Russia and fleeing is opposed to authorities' attempts to return her to the hospital. 32-year-old Ella Ilina, who returned from China last month, is in her St. Petersburg apartment refusing to open the door to police.

She said she performed a virus infection test on February 6, and the test found that the virus had not been infected, but was nevertheless told to stay in quarantine for two weeks. She broke the electronic lock in the hospital and fled.

In her Instagram account, Ilina said she had a sore throat shortly after returning to Russia from Hainan city of China on January 30. On February 6, Ilina decided to call an ambulance and was rushed to the Botkin Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital in St. Petersburg in Russia. Her tests showed she was not infected with the virus, but the next day, she was told to stay in a hospital for two weeks, which is estimated to be the maximum incubation period for the virus, to be sure. "All three tests showed that I was perfectly healthy, so why the hell the quarantine?" Ilina wrote on Instagram.

Later that day, she broke the electronic lock and fled the hospital. She said she even drew a map of the building to plan her escape route. In addition, she said city authorities have not taken any action for nearly a week. Now, a request for a court order has been filed to forcefully return her to the hospital to remain in quarantine, at least until February 19.

In the past day, the number of victims of the virus in China has increased by 254 people, more than twice the amount of deaths in the previous day. The state's National Health Commission said 242 died in the Hubei province, the focus of the outbreak of the virus, whose official name is "Cubid-19." It is the deadliest day to date, and now the death toll from the virus is 1,368 people - one in Japan, which today confirmed a first death case. In total, three people from outside China died from the disease.

This is after media outlets said last week that Hubei would make diagnoses using computed tomography (CT) scan, which would allow hospitals to more quickly isolate subjects.
