Subsequent to publications in Israel Today regarding the failures in managing the databases of judicial candidates (diamond) and the database of all judges in the system (baton), it has now been revealed that the Supreme Court case management system has also not been legally registered and is exposed to leakage and privacy violations.

The Supreme Court case management system includes all of the information contained in the cases before it, including personal details of the sentenced person, names of victims of rape and sexual offenses, names and details of minors in family cases, security issues that are closed door, financial details and other personal information of tens of thousands of citizens. This is an Internet system that has open network interfaces and as such may be vulnerable to hacking. On Tuesday, the Movement for Governance and Democracy appealed to the court administration to demand that the repository be legally registered.

"An examination with the Registrar of Information has made it clear that as of today, four databases are listed in the name of the administration: baton, net trial, wills and estates, deposits and checks," said a letter sent by Danny Siman, director of operations. "The system of file management in the Supreme Court, as far as we know, is not included in these databases. Needless to say, holding a database without its lawful registration is contrary to the law and it is also a criminal offense."

According to him, "a situation cannot be contained in which the court administration does not comply with the law and violates the privacy of tens and even hundreds of thousands of Israeli citizens whose details and sensitive information about them are in an unlawfully and unregulated database."
