Frankfurt am Main - The 17th season of the casting show DSDS is already in full swing. But now the big TV bomb has burst: Oliver Geissen (50) will not return to the live shows as a presenter. His successor is an old acquaintance at DSDS - and nobody really expected his TV return.
DSDS sensation: Alexander Klaws becomes new moderator
The moderation will be carried out by none other than Alexander Klaws (36) - who is the first winner of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” . As DWDL.de reports, he will take over from Oliver Geissen in the current season. He had previously been leading live shows for five years.
In 2003, Alexander Klaws prevailed in the first DSDS season against Juliette Schoppmann in the final. Back in March, 12.8 million viewers saw his glorious victory. 17 years later he is now returning to the popular TV casting show.

Alexander Klaws returns to DSDS
Alexander Klaws breaks new ground with his new job - because the 36-year-old moderated it beforehand ! In contrast to its predecessor. Oliver Geissen led the DSDS live shows for five years. Before that, Nazan Eckes (43) moderated two DSDS seasons, one with the actor Raul Richter (33). But the return of Alexander Klaws is a sensation!

He is looking forward to seeing Pop-Titan Dieter Bohlen again: "Who would have thought in this constellation." But of course Klaws is also looking forward to the candidates. "If someone knows what it's like to be on this stage, that's me." The candidates can therefore also look forward to one or two tips from their new moderator.

Alexander Klaws: His career after DSDS
It's been a long time: In 2003 Alexander Klaws won the DSDS. A lot has happened since then. The first DSDS winner has released several albums. But the musical became his great passion . After training in singing, dancing and acting in Hamburg, the native of Ahlen played numerous leading roles in large musical productions, including the leading role in Disney's "Tarzan" for three and a half years.
Alexander Klaws was also seen on TV. He played a leading role in the earlier Sat1 telenovela "Anna and Love". In 2014, he demonstrated his dancing talent in the RTL show "Let's Dance" . Together with dance partner Isabel Edvardsson (37), he also won the winner's cup here.
The auditions at DSDS are very hot this year, too, Dieter Bohlen recently even tried to couple Pietro.
