Events: The current recommendation can be found in the relevant information sheet of the Health Department. The decisive factor here is the recommendation by the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care to cancel or postpone events that are not really necessary. The protection of health, especially of risk groups, must be the top priority.
Baths: According to the current state of knowledge, it is not medically necessary to close baths, since chlorine is known to kill the virus. In addition, the surfaces in swimming pools are cleaned intensively and continuously. Nevertheless, it is a public facility that, after consultation with the health department, can decide whether to close or open it. The bath in Geretsried will be closed on the upcoming weekend. The municipality of Lenggries has also closed the Isarwelle until further notice.

Update March 13, 1:26 p.m .:

Based on the risk assessment by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the health authority in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen recommends canceling or postponing events that are not really necessary. The protection of health, especially of risk groups, must be the top priority.

Risk groups are:

The risk of a serious illness increases steadily with age from 50 to 60 years. Older people in particular can become more seriously ill after an infection due to the poorly reacting immune system.

Various basic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, diseases of the respiratory system, the liver and kidneys and cancer also appear to increase the risk of a severe course of the disease regardless of age.

District Administrator: We will do everything in the district to protect high-risk groups

In older people with pre-existing underlying diseases, the risk of developing a serious illness is higher than if only one factor (age or underlying disease) is present.

Patients with a suppressed immune system (e.g. due to a disease that is associated with an immune deficiency or taking medication that suppresses the immune system, such as cortisone) are at higher risk.

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier said: “We will do everything in the district to protect our risk groups and at the same time remain able to act. I appeal to everyone to act responsibly so that together we can curb the spread of the virus as much as we can. I would like to thank all those who are working on the limit in the health sector, for the police, but also in the administrations, for example, in order to maintain operations, for your commitment. ”Niedermaier continues to call for appropriate and considered action.

Update March 13, 8:30 a.m .:

Prime Minister Markus Söder has announced that from Monday, March 16, all schools, day care centers and crèches will remain closed until the Easter holidays. Click here for the press conference.

The fifth graders of the elementary and middle school in Dietramszell are already released from lessons on this Friday. The school writes on its website: “This is a mere precautionary measure ordered by the administration of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen Health Department. In a classmate's family, a family member tested positive for COVID-19. The classmate who has not been to school for a week has now been tested. We expect the result by Monday. 5th grade students are not considered suspects. However, if you experience symptoms that resemble flu, please contact your doctor and the school as well, by email. As soon as we receive further orders from the Health Department, we will post the information here. We kindly ask you to refrain from calling because we can only take action if we are informed of the results by the health department. ”

Update, March 12, 4.45 p.m .:

In the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district, two more were added to the two corona cases that were announced on Wednesday, as the district office announced.

The person is a 25-year-old who has probably contracted a vocational school outside the district. The second person is a 30-year-old woman who may have been infected while staying in Italy. Both show mild symptoms and are in quarantine at home.

The contact persons are determined by the health department.

Coronavirus: No school closure on Friday yet

The original message from 1pm

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - It was only a matter of time: In the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was detected on March 11, 2020 in a little over 50-year-old. According to the district office, the patient currently shows no symptoms and remains in home quarantine.

Coronavirus Bad Tölz: Affected person contracted the virus while staying abroad

The man, who was living alone, was infected during a stay abroad and had been informed during the trip home that he had had contact with an infected person. The man was exemplary. He put himself directly into quarantine so that he had no contact with another person from the time of departure - not even in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district.

District Administrator Bad Tölz on the corona virus: "However, we are well prepared"

Considering the first case, District Administrator Josef Niedermaier said: “We have been spared for a long time, but after the immense increase in cases in the past few days, it was only a matter of time before the virus reached our district. However, we are well prepared and act carefully. ”

Dr. Stephan Gebrande, head of the health department, as in previous days, calls on people to pay particular attention to hand, cough and sneeze hygiene.

The so-called containment strategy is currently being pursued. This means that the public health service aims to detect individual infections as early as possible and thereby prevent the virus from spreading as far as possible. However, the focus is now also on protecting people in particular who are at risk of serious illnesses.

The risk of an illness that takes a more severe course increases from 50 to 60 years with increasing age. Underlying diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, diseases of the respiratory system, the liver and kidneys as well as cancer can also lead to a severe course. There is also an increased risk for patients with suppressed immune systems. In contrast, according to current knowledge, under 20-year-olds with only 2.4 percent share of the detected infected are hardly affected. "Pregnant women do not seem to have an increased risk of illness," said the district office.

Members of the risk groups should avoid contacts

But especially for people who belong to the risk groups, the health authority recommends "taking further measures to reduce contacts". Anyone who has symptoms should contact the doctor's office quickly - but first by phone - especially if corona cases become known in private or professional surroundings.

Above all, it is important that sick people or people who come from high-risk areas such as Italy or who have had contact with safely diagnosed corona cases avoid people for whom infection can be dangerous for at least 14 days. "Here I can only appeal to the responsibility and solidarity of each individual," says Niedermaier.

View of the surrounding counties

In the neighboring counties, the number of cases is also still low. There are two patients in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and six in Miesbach. Three cases were confirmed in Weilheim-Schongau. However, the illness of an 80-year-old has gone so severely there that he has to be given intensive care. 18 cases are recorded in the district of Starnberg. However, this also includes the first cases that occurred at the local auto parts supplier in January. According to the Robert Koch Institute, there are currently 314 Corona cases in Bavaria as of Tuesday evening
