At least 350,142 cases of infection, including 15,873 deaths, have been detected in 174 countries and territories, notably in China (81,093 cases), the cradle of the epidemic, and in Italy (63,927 cases). However, this number of diagnosed cases only reflects a fraction of the actual number of infections, with a large number of countries now testing only the most serious cases.
