Coronavirus: more than 20,000 dead worldwide, the majority in Europe

The new coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 20,000 people worldwide, according to an AFP count based on official data on Wednesday, March 25.

A total of 20,334 deaths have been recorded, including a clear majority in Europe which deplores 13,581 victims. With 7,503 deaths, Italy is the most affected country ahead of Spain (3,434) and China (3,281), the initial focus of the pandemic.
