Another fatal day in Spain: 462 people have died in the last 24 hours as a result of the Corona disease, the European Ministry of Health reported.

The number of deaths since the outbreak of the plague in Spain stands at 2,042, despite the closure efforts taken by the local government and police forces. 33,089 people are infected in the country, of which 27,552 are active patients.

Earlier today, Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calvo was reported to have been hospitalized after suffering from respiratory and high fever, symptoms linked to the corona virus, but the senior corona test result has not yet been received. Calvo was previously tested on suspicion of Corona but the test results were negative.

Meanwhile, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said in a broadcast speech to the nation that "we are at war" and that the EU must declare a continental rehabilitation plan, much like the US "Marshall Plan" after World War II.

"Europe can and should do much more to improve the situation. We call on it at this difficult time to make tough decisions," Sanchez said in his speech.
