A 30-year-old tried for hitting his partner at her home on the first weekend of confinement and then threatened with police was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison by the Bordeaux correctional court, which ordered an immediate imprisonment.

This case, judged in immediate appearance, did not however highlight in the debates a direct link with the context of confinement which came into force on March 17.

Steve K., a Central African cook, was prosecuted for hitting during an argument, on the night of March 21-22, his partner who had asked him a few days before leaving his apartment, ending a relationship conflict interspersed with separation and reconciliation.

"Struck against the refrigerator," she had had an epilepsy attack before fleeing the next day with her daughter, summarized the president of the court. She was prescribed 3 days of ITT. Alone in the apartment in Bègles, near Bordeaux, he then, in rage, set the apartment on fire, causing the suffocation of his companion's two cats and significant damage.

In police custody, his mouth covered with a protective mask, he then heavily insulted the police, warning that they were "all going to be shot in the head" by referring to the "Kouachi brothers", Charlie's killers Weekly , before attacking an official. "When he brought him back to his cell, he boasted of having the coronary artery," said one of the three police officers who accused him of having thrown himself on the ground at the Bordeaux police station.

In the box, the thirty-something, who said he tried to kill himself in the White Spirit after the marital dispute, tried to justify himself: " I'm sorry, I was not in my normal state, I had taken 80 pills in 3-4 days. I find it hard to accept separation. I don't want to leave. I tell him we are waiting for the end of confinement (end of March, editor's note) ”.

"However, you had a solution outside confinement, you could go to your parents," retorted the president to the defendant already condemned 11 times.

Attacks on the police? "I was on the defensive, I was not in my state," repeated the thirty-something claiming to have responded to "provocations" . An unfortunate "misunderstanding between the word mask and word black" , regretted his lawyer Me Grégoire Mouly.

The defendant's apologies, described by the prosecutor as "speech swindler" , did not convince the court, which attached its judgment to a ban on contacting the victim and his daughter, in accordance with the requisitions of the Public minister.
