The Employment Service reported this morning (Sunday) a slowdown in enrollment of new job seekers. At the end of the week, a total of 32,577 job seekers - 21,932 of them on Friday and 10,645 on Saturday - registered, compared with 42,860 on Thursday alone, compared with 98,471 in the corresponding period the previous week (more than 3 times this weekend).

As of March, 764,165 new enrollees were enrolled - 90% of them abroad. The total number of active job seekers in Israel is now close to one million, and this morning stands at 922,016 (along with some of the active stabilizers from the period before the Corona crisis - about 160,000). Climb, and is now at 22.15%.

These numbers do not include 175,000 self-employed unemployed and tens of thousands of other unemployed young people, mainly young people, who do not meet the threshold conditions for continuous work in the last six months and who are not eligible for unemployment benefits. Today, every fourth employee in Israel, and every second head of household, is unemployed.

Rami Graur, CEO of the Employment Service: "Today, we are expected to complete the transfer of information on Social Security jobseekers, after covering 734,049 people in seven groups. We have done this as quickly as possible, so that the Israelis receive their unemployment benefit they are entitled to, even before Passover.

I would also like to mention that we have extended the retention of registrants' rights with us by the end of the month, so that we will recognize the eligibility of anyone who applies until 31.3.2020 as if it had been registered on 15.3 or according to the date on which he was fired or issued since that date.
