Karin and Christof Wieckhorst from Restaurant Luja wanted to say thank you to the staff of the Helios Amper Clinic not only in warm words. So they donated pizza to everyone in the hospital.
Dachau - Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, hospital employees have been much more in the focus of public attention than before. The owners of the “Luja” restaurant in Dachau came up with something very special to give the staff at the Helios Amper Clinic more than just grateful applause. "We wanted to do something nice for a long time, but so far we have never had the time," says Christof Wieckhorst, owner of the "Luja". Because they had to temporarily close the restaurant on March 16 due to the protective measures, Christof Wieckhorst, his wife Karin and the trainee Lennard Spanfellner each decided to donate a pizza to the hospital staff.
However, it quickly became apparent that the hospital, which employs around 1,000 people, has far more people than the couple initially suspected. So that the specialists from the various wards and shifts could all be taken into account, the restaurant owners worked out a plan with the organizational management of the clinic: on six different days, there were five trips to the early and late shifts. The benefactors took eight pizzas, four salads and twelve drinks donated by the Spaten-Löwenbräu Group with them each trip.
Christof Wieckhorst believes that this organizational effort is more than worthwhile in view of the very positive response: “You are quickly compensated. While we are inviting the second load, thank you calls or messages for the first load are usually sent to the cell phone, ”he reports.
The clinic staff also thanked them on their Facebook page with group pictures and nice words. "We all know the rather healthy hospital food. After all, such a delicious cheese pizza is the best thing you can give the employees as a thank you, ”Wieckhorst jokes. dn
