A Syrian Air plane carrying 251 Syrians stranded abroad from Sharjah Airport in the United Arab Emirates arrived at Damascus International Airport this evening, in implementation of the decisions of the government team concerned with tackling the Corona virus.
In a statement to SANA, Dr. Yassin Naanous, Director of Damascus Countryside Health, explained that as soon as the passengers of the plane arrived at the airport ground, all precautionary measures were implemented and they were transported by private buses to the Sahara Health Center in Sahara Tourist Hotel in Damascus countryside.
And Nainous said that there is a specialized medical team in the Sahara Tourist Hotel composed of doctors and nurses in addition to ambulances to care for the passengers of the plane and take pharyngeal and forgotten swabs from them in order to analyze it and make sure that they are not infected with the Corona virus, stressing that the medical team in Sahara is available around the clock and ready for any emergency.
The Ministry of Transport announced yesterday that the Syrian Air Company will start from today to operate flights to evacuate Syrian nationals who wish to return from a number of countries in the world to Syria according to the lists that have been registered through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates at embassies and diplomatic missions, in implementation of the decisions of the government team concerned with tackling the Corona virus.
The government team recently mandated the ministries of foreign affairs, expatriates, the interior, health, and transportation to study the reality of the Syrian citizens who were stranded with the conditions of return abroad, to set a set of controls and criteria for their recruitment to ensure safety and health measures were taken, and impose a mandatory quarantine for a period of 14 days for arrivals and not to give any exceptions regarding the quarantine decision.
It is noteworthy that the first plane carrying 29 Syrians stranded abroad coming from the Armenian capital, Yerevan, arrived at Damascus International Airport on the 29th of last month.
