A group of parents of pupils from Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis) has filed an appeal before the administrative court of Montreuil to request the reopening of "all" of the primary schools and a more regular reception of children, a- we learned on Tuesday. "We are asking for more openings to allow more students to go to school and more often," said Élodie Brunel, member of this "apolitical" collective which brings together fifteen parents of elected pupils, in different schools.

A hearing is to be held Wednesday afternoon before the administrative court. In their summary procedure (emergency procedure) filed on Monday, the parents of pupils criticize the communist municipality for the reception arrangements which allow "only a too limited number of children to go to school" , which in their view constitutes an “illegal attack” on education.

Fourteen school groups reopened gradually from Tuesday, with the establishment of a system of rotation and drastic sanitary conditions. "All children can be welcomed in good conditions thanks to the action of municipal services and National Education if their parents wish," said Tuesday on his Facebook page Mayor Meriem Derkaoui, also a candidate for re-election. June 28.

But the group of parents of students estimates that in reality, many children will not see their class more than once or twice in June. An organization incompatible with pedagogical continuity and the need to "re-socialize" , he denounces. The municipality must allow "access to all children whose parents volunteer on a regular basis for at least half of the week allowing more viable pedagogical follow-up and learning , " he asks.

The violation of the right to education was found in a similar case brought before this same court last month. A pupil's mother from Bobigny, also a municipal opposition councilor, had filed an appeal to request the reopening of the nursery schools, initially closed until September by the centrist municipality. She had finally offered to reopen three kindergartens from Monday.

Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer has assured that all schools will reopen in June. But in the majority of cases, student volunteers are only partially accommodated there at best.
