At 7 am, the observatory recorded a temperature of 28.3°C and a relative humidity of 90%.

The highest UV index today is about 12, which is extremely high.

The very hot weather warning is now in effect. The warning came into effect at 6:45 am on July 11 till now.

The Observatory issued a thunderstorm warning at 7 am on July 22. The effective time is 8 am today. Thunderstorms are expected in the eastern waters of Hong Kong.

Weather Overview: The high-altitude anticyclone brought generally sunny weather to Guangdong yesterday. The weather in Hong Kong was mainly fine yesterday, but there were showers in some areas, with rainfall exceeding 10 mm in Yuen Long District. The weather was very hot in the afternoon, with temperatures rising to 34 degrees or above in many areas. Expected to be dominated by high-altitude anticyclones, southern China will continue to be extremely hot for the rest of the week, and the weather is generally fine. As the high-altitude anticyclone weakened slightly early next week, there will be a few showers in Guangdong.

The weather forecast for Hong Kong (Wednesday, July 22): Generally fine with one or two showers. The lowest temperature is about 28 degrees. The weather is very hot during the day. The highest temperature in the urban area is about 33 degrees, and another one or two degrees higher in the New Territories. Slight to moderate southeast wind.

Observatory outlook: The weather will continue to be extremely hot for the rest of the week, with mostly fine weather.
