Ilizir Meirov, 27, and Issy Rafailov, 28, two known criminals from Hadera, are charged with rape.

The Southern District Attorney's Office filed today (Wednesday) a particularly serious indictment against 11 suspects involved in gang rape in Eilat.

The filing of the indictments comes two weeks after the investigation was opened, and after prosecutor statements were filed against the suspects (minors and adults) involved in the rape of the minor.

The court allowed the publication of the names of the adults involved in the gang rape case: Ilizir Meirov, 27, and Issy Rafilov, 28, from Hadera, are charged with rape and 19-year-old Osher Shlomo is charged with aiding and abetting rape and other offenses.

It was further stated that the defendants from Irov and Rafailov had a criminal record for which they served actual sentences.

The indictment was filed by Adv. Rotem Yochanani Har-Zion, and he attributes a rape offense to four suspects, including two minors, and at the same time the other suspects were charged with aiding and abetting rape, non-prevention of crime and other offenses. The two twin brothers, the minors, live in Moshav Belchish.

As mentioned, the affair was opened following a complaint filed at the Ashkelon police station regarding suspicion of rape and sexual offenses against a minor while she was on vacation in Eilat.

A special investigation team was set up under the command of Lachish Area Lt. Gen. Doron Aloni, which includes more than 20 investigators, a technological team and youth investigators.

The goal - to get to the truth as quickly as possible while maintaining the victim and her privacy.

During the investigation, visual materials, forensic evidence and more were collected, and through them the investigators were able to reach the identities of those involved and bring about their arrest.

The investigation shows that the rape took place in room 216 at the Red Sea Hotel in Eilat.

The girl came to the hotel with her friend to visit a group of friends.

At one point, the main suspect, a 27-year-old from her room whom she did not know, tried to start with her in the pool.

The girl, according to the police investigation, told him that he was too old for her.

A few hours later, following drinking alcohol, the girl did not feel well.

The young man noticed this, offered her help and claimed he was a medic.

Later, according to the investigation materials, he led her to room No. 216, where he raped her.

At this point in the security cameras you can see a big commotion of people.

At least 16 boys and adults walking towards the room.

Police investigators who viewed the materials noticed that the youths were inviting each other into the room.

The rape lasted for almost an hour and a half.

The evidence in the police's possession indicates that the next day, the girl received messages from the suspects, and planned to understand that she had been raped.

After arriving in her hometown of Ashkelon, she filed a complaint with the police.

It is estimated that if one of the suspects had not written to her what happened in room 216 in the hotel, she would not have remembered, as she would have been vague during the rape because of the amount of alcohol she drank.

Thus, through these messages, the investigators reached all the suspects.

Two of the main defendants contacted her and sent her text messages, in which they described to her what she was going through in the room.

The girl, who as mentioned did not remember what happened to her, asked to be left alone, and when she was informed that the rape had been filmed, she feared that the videos would be distributed and complained to the police.

At this stage, no indictment will be filed against Pnina Maman, the manager of the Red Sea Hotel in Eilat.

In the coming days, a decision is expected in the State Attorney's Office on whether to file an indictment against her at all.

She is suspected of failing to prevent crime and disrupting investigative proceedings.

Eleven suspects - three adults and eight boys - will be indicted today.

The Southern District Attorney's Office attributes different indictments to each and every one of them.

Some of the suspects will be charged with rape, others with aiding and abetting rape and some with failing to prevent a crime.

The lawyers representing the suspects said that they had given their version and cooperated with the police, "when the indictments are filed and we receive the investigation materials we will respond accordingly."
