The count continues in the United States but each of the two presidential candidates intends not to give up a piece of ground to his opponent.

"Who would have thought it would last until tomorrow and maybe beyond?"

"Began the Democratic candidate.

From the stand, Joe Biden wanted to be optimistic.

“Tonight, we feel good, we are in good shape, he assured, before listing the“ swing states ”, these key states he hopes to win.

We are on track to win in Arizona, Minnesota and we are still in contention in Georgia.

We feel good in Wisconsin and Michigan.

We're going to win Pennsylvania.

"

“They are trying to steal the election!

"

Joe Biden called for caution, preventing any escalation and claim of his opponent, a scenario feared for days on the Democratic side.

“We knew that voting by mail would take more time.

We will have to be patient and wait for every vote to be counted […] It is not for me or Donald Trump to declare the winner of this result.

I want to thank each of you for coming.

"

The reaction of the outgoing president was not long in coming.

Silent since the start of the count, Donald Trump instantly resurfaced on his favorite network, Twitter.

“They are trying to steal the election!

We will not let them.

Votes cannot be cast after the close of polling stations.

A message that was reported by the social network, warning its users that part or all of this message could be misleading.

We are up BIG, but they are trying to STEAL the Election.

We will never let them do it.

Votes cannot be cast after the Polls are closed!

- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 4, 2020

And here is that the duel announced between the two men moves on a new ground: that of the communication.

Donald Trump, even before the counting began, had let it be known that he would not let go and will not hesitate to contest the ballot.

On the Democratic side, the fear was strong to see the latter claim a victory even before the counting of the postal votes was definitively finished.

These could be decisive.
