The Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh hosted this evening the first screening of the short film, the last day of the production of the General Organization for Cinema, written and directed by Lotus Masoud, with a seminar for the film family.

Rabab Ahmed, director of the center, expressed her happiness at presenting the first screening of the film in the center, stressing the importance of supporting young creators in various fields.

The film, which won two awards for best short film and best directing at the Prague Independent International Film Festival, presents within seven minutes the psychological aspect of mortar shells that rained Damascus with death during the terrorist war on Syria, with the events that accompanied that and the reactions of the film's characters to the news of Damascus declaring it safe from missiles.

During the symposium that followed the screening of the film, director Lotus Masoud thanked the focus on organizing the event and supporting the youth, noting that the film tried to answer the question whether the war ended with the cessation of shelling, with an explanation that the psychological effects of war are greater and more dangerous than its material danger.

While the actress, Loris Kazak, spoke about the aesthetic experience, being the first in a film produced by the Film Foundation, stressing the collective effort that led to the film's success and the importance of moral and material support for young film creators.

As for the actor Iyad Issa, he found that the film surpassed the gap between cinema and drama, as the picture prevailed over the cinematic work and put forward an important idea centered around the state of isolation that people lived due to the effects of the war.

In turn, the media, Amina Abbas, who was one of the main characters in the film, expressed her happiness with her first experience in acting, noting the distinction of director Masoud for being the author of diligence and perseverance, which resulted in the success of the work and winning international awards.

The film will be starred by Hassan Khalil, Aya Mahmoud, Molhim Bishr, Alaa Zahr El Din, Randa Krushan, and Ward Damaksi.
