As we lay off one of the worst years of contemporary times, we contemplate the extent of what remains to be rebuilt.
An economy in pieces, an abysmal debt, entire sectors of activity devastated, our art of living reduced to nothing, the morale of our fellow citizens at their lowest.
So many evils which are added to the horrors of the current time which are Islamist terrorism, communitarianism, the violence of the extreme left and the thousand other small fractures which gave birth to the French archipelago so aptly described by Jérôme Fourquet.
It is time to
"draw our courage from our very despair"
(Seneca).
Because, one day, hope will be reborn.
One day, the voluntary vaccination of the majority of French people will allow us to build our collective immunity and to move forward.
