Anthony Blinken, the candidate of the President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, for the post of Secretary of State, spoke during a special hearing in the Senate and interpreted the political doctrine of the new administration.

Blinken referred to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and said: "In order to secure the future of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, and in order to give the Palestinians the state they deserve, the only way is a two-state solution."

Despite this, Blinken expressed pessimism about the possibility of approaching negotiations soon and said: "Such a solution to the conflict is very challenging and it is difficult to see a chance for progress soon."

Blinking referred to the Iranian nuclear project, saying: "The time of the breakthrough - the time that would allow Iran to obtain enough fissile material for one atomic bomb, has shrunk from one year under the nuclear deal to three to four months now. The United States has a deep and urgent commitment to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons."

The veteran diplomat said the Biden administration would immediately consider the decision to recognize the Houthi rebels in Yemen, Iran's allies, as a terrorist organization, a decision made under the Trump administration.

Blinken said the Trump administration's decision has made it difficult to transfer humanitarian aid to a country under starvation.
