The new protocol announced by Jean-Michel Blanquer obliging to close a class from the first positive case has entered into force with

Will there still be students in Hauts-de-Seine schools at the end of the week?

Since Monday morning, the new rule for closing classes at all levels has been applied, from the first positive Covid-19 case reported from March 27.

If this protocol already applied for preschools where the mask is not worn, it took three positive cases (or one case of the South African or Brazilian variant) to trigger the closure of classes in the upper levels.

In the department, the new measure was felt from 8 am on Monday, in secondary schools.

" It's a mess !

The classes are closing one after the other in the colleges and high schools of Gennevilliers ”, notes Abdel Mesbahi, president of FCPE 92.

"The students who went to class this morning at 8 am returned home at 10 am, with class closings for seven days because there were positive cases during the weekend", confirms Fabrice Belkheir, FCPE member at Collège Pasteur, where two classes were closed.

"It's very complicated to manage"

For its part, the teacher union Snes 92 has "identified" about twenty closures decided in the morning alone, not to mention the closure decisions taken at the end of last week.

This already represents more than a quarter of the 61 closures recorded last week by the Academy of Versailles and stopped on Thursday 25, 1 p.m.

In detail, the Guy-Môquet college in Gennevilliers had to close no less than five classes during the day.

The Newton high school in Clichy has closed four of them.

The Marie-Curie school complex, in Sceaux, has closed a third and second class.

The Descartes high school, in Antony, sent the students of two final and BTS classes home.

Other classes or groups of secondary school students have closed in Rueil-Malmaison, Saint-Cloud, Asnières-sur-Seine, Nanterre, Fontenay-aux-Roses or even Colombes.

"It is very complicated to manage and very time-consuming for the teams, for the heads of establishments and the school life staff, all the more so at the high school where, with the teaching of specialty, the pupils of several classes find themselves in the same groups ”, deplores Geneviève Royer, departmental secretary of SNES 92.

At the primary level, the unions do not have systematic returns but it is a safe bet that the closures are linked in the same way.
