(CNN Spanish) -

The Attorney General of Quintana Roo in Mexico reported this Monday that the autopsy performed on the woman who died in the middle of a police procedure under investigation in Tulum reveals a fracture in the upper part of the spine “produced due to the rupture of the first and second vertebrae, which caused the loss of the victim's life ”.

In a statement, the Prosecutor's Office stated that these injuries are compatible and coincide with the maneuvers applied at the time of his arrest and before his death.

“The police technique of body control applied and the level of force used was carried out disproportionately, immoderately and with a high risk to life, since it was not in accordance with the resistance of the victim, which caused a deceleration with rotation of the neck , thereby violating the provisions of the national law on the use of force, "he added.

For this reason, a prosecutor in charge brought criminal action against the four municipal policemen (one woman and three men) for their probable participation in events described by law as "femicide" and this Monday they will enter a detention center at the disposal of a control judge.

CNN is trying to establish whether the suspects already have legal defense.

Although the Prosecutor's Office pointed out that so far the victim has not been officially identified, both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador and the President of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador referred to the woman as Victoria Esperanza Salazar, a Salvadoran national.

In his morning conference this Monday, López Obrador expressed his regret and promised that there will be no impunity.

The latter was also emphasized by the Prosecutor's Office at the end of its statement.

The incident that occurred this Saturday was captured in videos that circulate on social networks and that aroused indignation among its users.

CNN has not been able to independently verify the veracity of the audiovisuals or who or where they were recorded, but the Prosecutor's Office told CNN this Sunday that the homicide victim to which it refers is the one that appears in these internet images.

In the videos, a woman can be seen on the ground during what appears to be an arrest, when another woman dressed as a policeman - along with other uniformed men and in front of a patrol car - puts her knee on the neck and back of the detainee.

Then you can hear what seems to be a scream from the subjugated woman.

In another shot, the detainee is seen when she appears to be immobile and handcuffed.

Afterward, she is loaded into the back of a pickup truck with the "Municipal Transit" logos.

In the videos it is not clear what happened before the interaction between the police and the deceased.

The General Directorate of Public Safety and Municipal Traffic of Tulum -which depends on the Municipal Presidency- has not ruled so far on the fact.
