26 children with hearing impairment and autism spectrum disorder from the Syrian Organization for Persons with Disabilities “Amal” expressed their thoughts and feelings that they carry about the surrounding world. An exhibition of Rolyev's sculpture paintings hosted this evening “Gallery” artist Mustafa Ali in Damascus and will continue until next Monday.

The paintings were presented in an exhibition entitled “Mirrors” held by “Amal” on the occasion of the International Day of Hearing and the International Day of Autism Spectrum Disorder, with the participation of children from the Autism Center and the Educational Center for Hearing Disability in the organization to highlight the capabilities of people with disabilities and their creative potential, according to the Director of Communication Department of the organization Reem Shehadeh.

Shehadeh indicated that the paintings were produced under the supervision of plastic artist Talal Mualla, pointing out that some of the children's paintings reflected their condition and the way they saw the features of people and their faces, as well as other paintings on plants and birds.

For her part, Basma Shaheen, Director of the Autism Center in the organization, considered that the exhibition is a space in which children express their feelings and an opportunity to integrate them into society and present their talents and skills with art, noting its role as a means of support for the rehabilitation plan for children with disabilities developed by the organization.

Nour Nasser, a teacher at the organization, indicated that the drawing experience is presented to all children in the organization, and with time the talents are revealed among them, considering that what the children presented is an achievement as they crossed with paintings of sculptures that departed from themselves.

Plastic artist Mustafa Ali described what the children presented in their paintings is a true picture of spontaneity and simplicity and carried the privacy of each one of them, stressing the role of art in therapy and psychological support because it is a language that creates an innate nature with humans.

The plastic artist Ghazi Anna said that the paintings included amazing details in an expressive way that spoke in the language of each child, pointing out that he drew several ideas from their paintings.

The Syrian Organization for Persons with Disabilities, "Amal", was established in 2002, and it is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that works to improve the lives of people with disabilities through building knowledge and awareness, providing treatment and rehabilitation, and enhancing their participation in building society.

The exhibition was attended by artistic personalities, representatives of NGOs, and professors from the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus.
