They were happy when they recently found mail from the Huglfing administrative association in their mailboxes: 300 citizens were selected and should be vaccinated against Covid 19 next Saturday in the Huglfing gymnasium.

But the appointment had to be canceled, for the second time.

Huglfing - The first VG Huglfing campaign on April 24th was a complete success.

In cooperation with the vaccination center in Peißenberg, around 200 seniors over 70 years of age received an initial vaccination from a mobile vaccination team at a collective appointment.

"Because the first bulk vaccination was so successful, we wanted to carry out another campaign on May 22nd," says Huglfings Mayor Markus Huber.

Christian Achmüller, administrative manager of the vaccination center, had promised exactly 204 vaccination doses for this appointment.

The residents of the four municipalities were made aware of the second campaign in the May official gazettes.

This time people “60 plus” and the priority group 3 should have their turn.

Official gazettes for the first appointment had already been sent

But as soon as the official gazettes were out, this appointment was canceled by the vaccination center: "Since no vaccination doses are available for May 22nd - despite Mr. Achmüller's promise," Huber emphasizes. The mayors had been informed that they could postpone the date by a week to May 29th. "We were promised that we would then receive 300 vaccines instead of the 204 announced."

Then the further planning for the possible new date proceeded in such a way that the four mayors can only shake their heads: "This approach is in no way acceptable to me and my colleagues from Eberfing, Eglfing, Oberhausen, understandably unprofessional and also outrageous, ”said Huber.

Because although an immediate binding statement about the delivery was promised, the VG had to ask several times: "We were forced to act because we had to cancel, postpone or completely cancel the date for May 22nd."

The government of Upper Bavaria has announced that it will no longer be carrying out initial vaccinations for a certain period of time

When the vaccination center administration manager Achmüller then made a binding commitment to 300 vaccination doses, the VG administration sent 300 letters to the vaccinated individuals with the new date and the exact time. Shortly afterwards the information came that no vaccination doses were available. The last step in particular, to make a commitment for 300 vaccinations, although it was reported in the media at the time that there will be almost no first vaccinations for the next two or three weeks, is "in no way" understandable for Huber: "A leader of the vaccination center with several months of pandemic experience must not make such a promise to us if he does not secure himself beforehand with the government of Upper Bavaria. "

The four mayors would feel obliged to act in a transparent and binding manner for the citizens. “I cannot accept that trust in us is being lost through unprofessionalism in other areas,” says Huber. When asked by the local newspaper, Christian Achmüller wrote that the government of Upper Bavaria had informed him that there had been no instructions not to give initial vaccinations for a certain period of time. That is why he ordered the vaccination doses for Huglfing when he ordered the week and communicated this to the deputy head of the VG, Georg Leis, the mayor of Eberfing. "In the afternoon I got a call from the vaccine coordination office with the request that we should only order second vaccinations, as there is currently a shortage of vaccines."

In the future there will be no more vaccination campaigns by the VG

He then had to make a new vaccine order - "without the first vaccinations, of course."

He immediately discussed this again with Mayor Leis: "But he said the letters are all already out." Even if City Hall boss Huber admits that Achmüller is "dependent on higher positions" and regrets the process and admitted a mistake he believes that such processes should “not be swept under the carpet”.

The VG does not want to carry out any more vaccination campaigns in the future.
