It was a creative idea of the host Ewald Zechner to offer tree sponsorships for the beer garden at the "Summer on the Thomawiese" and then donate 50 euros for each tree to the chain of the helping hands of the Dachauer Nachrichten.

Festwirt Zechner started the campaign primarily to make the beer garden really cozy.
To this end, over 350 potted trees and bushes were set up.
Sponsors were then sought for these plants.
There were, for example, the “Amperwald” or “Schee Gmiatlich” packages.
The respective packages included sponsorships for a certain number of trees including food and drink.
Ewald Zechner himself was surprised by the response his idea generated, because sponsors were found for 232 trees: “The people of Dachau went along with them and therefore deserved a huge applause,” he said on Monday evening at the handover on the Thomawiese stage to Torge Wester, deputy editor-in-chief of Dachauer Nachrichten.
Zechner and the visitors of the last evening of the 16-day event had bad luck with the extremely rainy weather on Monday.
In view of the moderation by Sascha Seelemann, hearty beer tent music and the announcement by Zechner: "The reservations are now canceled and everyone is looking for a dry place", but things got rough.
Ewald Zechner also expressed his thanks to the fire brigade, which not only supported him with the construction of his own box.
Fire department chairman Florian Reiter returned the praise and promised: "We are always there for you!"
The trees should then be planted in the Dachau area.
