For more than a decade, Parisians have seen the ghostly facade of the Samaritaine on the banks of the Seine remain in the shadow of a past that seemed to persist in keeping it in limbo. As a precious jewel is kept in the safe, the silhouette of the building designed in 1928 by Henri Sauvage kept the secret of a colossal project: six years of work. What was going on behind the curtain? After Courchevel, Randheli, Saint-Barth and Saint-Tropez, what surprise did the first Urban House in the collection of the LVMH group have in store? The inauguration last June of the sumptuously renovated department store lifted a bit of the veil.
